It’s finally time.
MenaceMC Survival Season 2 launches this Saturday, 5th September at 3:00 PM BST.
We’ve been working on Season 2 for a long time, and this isn’t just a fresh world with a couple of new features thrown on top.
The main thing we wanted from Season 2 was simple:
More to grind for, more to unlock, and more reasons to keep progressing.
⚠️ Survival Closes Thursday
Survival Season 1 will close on Thursday, 3rd September at 5:00 PM BST.
Once it closes, Survival will stay offline while we get everything ready for the new season.
Season 2 opens on Saturday, 5th September at 3:00 PM BST.
Arena will remain online.
🌍 Progression Actually Matters Now
One of the biggest things we wanted to change going into Season 2 was how quickly progression could turn into:
Make money → buy spawners → make more money → buy more spawners.
Money obviously still matters, but it shouldn’t be the only thing separating a new player from an end-game setup.
Season 2 adds a lot more structure around that.
You’ll have Tasks to complete, spawners to unlock, prices that increase as your setup grows, mobs to grind for Heads and Essence, Workers to build up, streaks to maintain and Guild rankings to compete for.
There should always be another goal in front of you.
🧱 A Completely New Spawner System
Spawner gameplay has had one of the biggest changes of the entire update.
We’ve built a new spawner system specifically for MenaceMC, giving us much more control over how spawners, stacked mobs, progression and drops work.
The biggest difference is that spawners are now part of your actual progression.
🔒 Spawners Have To Be Unlocked
You can no longer join, make enough money and immediately jump straight to whichever spawner makes the most.
Spawner types are now locked behind Tasks.
There are 18 spawner progression tiers to work through, taking you from the early game all the way up to the strongest spawners available later in the season.
Each tier comes with objectives that need to be completed before you can move on.
That means unlocking a new spawner is now something you’ve actually worked towards instead of simply something you could afford.
We’ve also added extra checks around progression objectives so obvious shortcuts can’t just be used to skip through them.
📈 Every Spawner Gets More Expensive
Unlocking a spawner doesn’t mean you can endlessly buy it at one fixed price either.
Every time you buy a spawner, the price of the next one increases.
Your first few might be fairly easy to afford.
Building a ridiculous stack of them won’t be.
This makes massive late-game farms a much bigger investment and should help stop the economy reaching the point where money becomes almost meaningless.
The larger you want your setup to become, the more you’ll have to put back into it.
🔐 Spawner Ownership & Protection
Spawner ownership is also properly tied into the new system.
Your spawners are tracked properly so ownership, protection and the other systems around them can all work together.
It also gives us a much better base to keep expanding the spawner system throughout the season.
💀 Mob Heads & Essence
Mob grinding has a completely new purpose in Season 2.
As you kill mobs, you’ll collect Mob Heads.
Those Mob Heads give you Essence, creating another progression path alongside the normal money you make from mob drops.
✨ What Can You Unlock With Essence?
Essence can be used to unlock rewards that directly help your progression.
You’ll be able to unlock things like:
💰 Sell Boosters
📦 Collectors
🎉 Party Keys
🧟 Spawner Upgrades
That means grinding mobs can now improve the rest of your setup instead of only increasing your balance.
Your mob grind now looks more like:
Unlock spawner → build farm → grind mobs → collect Mob Heads → earn Essence → unlock rewards.
The more you progress through spawners and the bigger your farms become, the more useful the Mob Heads and Essence system becomes.
✅ New Daily Tasks
Daily Tasks are also playing a much bigger role this season.
There’s now a pool of over 30 different Daily Tasks, so you aren’t just doing the exact same thing every day.
You’ll get objectives covering different parts of Survival, giving you another reason to actually play the server instead of sitting at one farm all day.
🔥 Brand-New Streaks
Season 2 introduces a completely brand-new Streaks system.
The idea behind it is to give you another long-term thing to build up throughout the season.
Keep your streak going and that streak becomes something worth holding onto.
It gives regular players another progression path alongside Tasks, spawners, Essence and the economy.
Streaks also tie into the wider daily progression side of Season 2, so logging in and actually playing regularly matters more.
🛡️ Brand-New Streak Protection
We’re also introducing Streak Protection.
We wanted streaks to become valuable without making the whole system completely unforgiving.
Streak Protection gives you some breathing room when you’ve built up a streak, instead of everything being completely all-or-nothing.
The longer you keep your streak going, the more important protecting it becomes.
🤖 Brand-New Workers
Workers are another completely new system coming with Season 2.
They give you a new form of automation alongside spawners and collectors.
Workers are something you’ll be able to build up as your setup grows, giving you another place to invest into instead of every bit of progression eventually coming back to buying another spawner.
We’ve spent a lot of time making sure Workers actually fit into the Survival economy rather than simply becoming another free money printer.
If you enjoy optimising automated setups, Workers are going to give you a completely new system to play with.
📦 Collector Statistics & Access
Collectors are getting some love too.
Collectors can now track their own statistics, giving you a much better idea of what your farms are actually producing.
Instead of just seeing items disappear into a collector, you’ll be able to see how that collector has actually been performing.
For anyone who likes squeezing as much efficiency as possible out of a farm, this should make it much easier to compare setups and see what’s working.
👥 Collector Access
Collectors also have a brand-new Access feature.
You can now invite other players to access your collectors, making it much easier to share and manage farms with friends, Guild members or anyone else you trust.
This is especially useful for shared farms where more than one person is actually working on the setup.
You stay in control of who has access, while the players you invite can help manage the collector with you.
🏰 Guilds Are Getting Competitive
Guilds are getting a proper overhaul for Season 2.
We want Guilds to be more than just a tag next to your name.
There should be an actual reason to build one, grow it and compete with everyone else.
🏆 /topguilds
Season 2 introduces a new Guild leaderboard through /topguilds.
You’ll be able to see which Guilds are sitting at the top of the server and how your own group compares.
That gives Guilds an actual ranking to fight over throughout the season.
Build your Guild, grow together and try to take the top spot.
The aim is to make Guilds much more competitive this season rather than simply being a group system that sits in the background.
💰 A Big Economy Rebalance
A lot of Season 2 comes back to making the economy last longer.
Spawner progression is a huge part of that.
Now you have to:
Unlock the spawner.
Afford the spawner.
Keep up with the increasing price as you buy more.
We’ve also gone through farming, mob drops, automated systems, Workers, rewards and shop values to make everything fit together better.
Sell Boosters now have their own place in progression through the Essence system, giving grinders another way to improve the value of what they’re producing.
The aim is for the early game, mid game and end game to actually feel different.
We’ll keep watching the economy after launch too. If something is clearly too strong or too weak, we’ll adjust it.
⚡ Performance Improvements
There’s also been a lot of work on performance.
It isn’t the flashiest Season 2 feature, but it’ll matter once everyone starts building massive farms again.
We’ve improved how the server handles things like:
Huge spawner stacks
Large groups of mobs
Massive amounts of drops
Item stacking
Collectors
Workers
Large farms
Data saving
🚀 Minecraft 26.2
Season 2 will launch on Minecraft 26.2.
Survival has been moved over to the new version and we’ve spent a lot of time making sure everything around it is ready for launch.
That includes our custom content, mobs, menus, spawners, anti-cheat and the other systems you use every day.
🛡️ Better Anti-Xray & Exploit Protection
We’ve also improved a number of the systems that help keep Survival fair.
That includes improvements to:
Anti-Xray
Nether Anti-Xray
Anti-ESP
Anti-Freecam
Seed protection
Anti-cheat
Exploit prevention
Most players shouldn’t notice any of this while playing normally.
People trying to get an unfair advantage hopefully will.
🐛 Fixes & Quality of Life
There’s also a lot that doesn’t really deserve its own section.
Throughout the Season 2 work we’ve fixed and cleaned up loads of smaller things across Survival.
That includes:
Bug fixes
Better menus
Command improvements
Cleaner messages
More consistent formatting
Better data saving
Fixes between different server systems
General quality-of-life changes
Lots of small bits of polish
Some you’ll notice immediately.
Some you’ll probably never notice at all.
That’s probably a good thing.
